Earlier today,I was changing stuff on my profile and tryin' to get into the new gallery (no luck so far.....HELP!!). Anyways....there was something in there about your member number. Steve had a thing in the FAQ about putting your cursor on your name and finding your number at the left bottom of page. Turns out I'm #257. This got me wondering who joined before me. For those that don't know.....I believe this is the third series of forums. I know there are some here from the first series (Greenspun) and more from the second (which includes me). As far as I know....there is no record of this 2nd series.The forum we are doing now (3rd series??) started up in early 2005. This got me wondering about things like which members jumped in before me. If you go to members...you will notice that there are like 450 pages of members with 30 per page. Just for sh!ts & giggles, I started from the beginning and went through the first 22 pages (660 people). Out of 660 people only 23 showed up as registering in 2005. You can see that it would take me a considerable amount of time to go through all 450 pages. Our members are listed alphabetically but is there a way to list them in order by member #??? Its also interesting to see the post counts. There are tons of members that have been here forever with low post counts. I realize probably most of them bugged out but I'm sure there are also a bunch that are still active but don't post much. I may have to keep going through more pages to find out who is ahead of me (can ANYONE be THAT bored??? ).

There was a SOHC4 mailing list started back in the 90's.  I got on it back in the late 90's when I discovered the World Wide Waste of Time.  My SOHC4 number was 459 if I remember right.  Seems like there was a list of the old numbers around here someplace.  I liked the old list, but more people gravitated to the forums and it fizzled out.  I think Glenn finally shut it down a year or two back.

You can sort the members list by join date (or any other column) if you click on the column header.

The "2nd incarnation" was an early version of forum software and we couldn't transfer the members over.

That's odd.  I was on the old usenet alt.rec.motorcycles sohc4 list as #37 I think. Now when I look up my info I can only find that I registered in 2008 for this site.
