this weekend is pretty sketchy. I would like to ride to eat as that is about all the time I have to ride. maybe the next- next weekend or the one after??

I think I am free for a few days this month. The 20th, 26th, and 27th. I can probably pry my buddy's SV650 from him to ride over.

I just think it may be fun for a few of us to get together and talk about projects. could be that we could help each other out. Lets play it by ear.

I'm cool with whatever, but I think we should still look into doing a scheduled meet once a month. It will make it easier for everyone to plan for it, and get the word out to other riders that have similar interests. Don't know what will happen till we give it a shot.

As long as it's a weekend I can do it. What weekend shouldn't make any difference to me. I'm helping my friend with his bike, but we're mainly working on it on Saturday afternoons. I'll make sure I have time for breakfast first. ;D

Sounds like there are enough people to get the ball rolling. Susan's is calling my name.

I think we should make a new thread and call it N.W. Arkansas Vintage Breakfast Club and see if anyone else would like to join. Maybe someone else could pick a weekend for us.  :P

Should it be posted in the Events section or Open forum?

Both?

I created one in the Open Forum since the Events section has a calender. Obviously there hasn't been any official dates set, so it is hard to create something that has yet to be created.

Is there anyone here familiar with any hotels or watering holes located in Harrison?

All I've ever really heard about Harrison is that if you're black you should probably stay away. We could all just go to different bars and see what's the best. Just call each other to find the one most fitting. That's all I've got.

I'm hoping to find a hotel close to a drinking/restaurant spot so there won't be any unnecessary drinking and riding. Something within walking distance would be nice, but I'm not seeing anything that pops up. Supposedly they just recently turned into a wet county.

My dad is from Harrison (area). up until the last vote, Harrison was in a dry county. The restaurants can serve alcohol now but I am not sure which do. I will talk to my dad and find out where is a good place to stay.

That's what I just found out from the motel in Jasper. There may be a hotel that has a bar, but haven't confirmed yet. Any info you can gather would be great.

okay, should be no problem finding a place to stay in Harrison. as far as anything to do.... no bars,  and not a lot of entertainment. Harrison is one of those places that they roll up main street around 10. Most of the restaurants do serve beer though.

I found a good spot that covers lodging and dirty water all in the same place. Days Inn Harrison Hotel should fit the bill, and the rates are fair enough as well.

The official hotels to lay your weary head have been selected. Both spots provide a bar/restaurant to keep alcohol fueled two wheel riding at bay. The evening of June 8th will be located at Days Inn Harrison Hotel while the 9th will reside at Hawthorn Park Inn Suites in Russellville.

Also whipped up some day by day route maps to provide some much needed clarity for the ride.

DAY ONE
DAY TWO
DAY THREE

made my reservations

Made mine as well. Me and another rider Brad will be splitting rooms to cut costs in half. Apparently there is no spooning allowed even if we are wearing clothes. WTF?

Hey cap'n, how many people do you expect to show up for this? I'm not sure that I want to go ahead and reserve a room. I never know what's around the corner. I really want to come out and take pics of the riders and maybe write a little article about it.

I don't know if I can get off work for the ride, but I live 2 blocks from Hawthorn Park in Russellville.  I cooked and tended bar there back in the college days when it was a Holiday Inn.  I'll definitely be down for coming out for alcoholic refreshments and scooter talk.

To be honest I haven't a clue how many to expect. I think the numbers will be pretty low though. I've been told to expect half of all the folks who say they are going, to actually show up. 5-10 maybe?

Who do you write for?

Come on out and join us. You could always run one of the days with us if you can't make all three.
