Always seems faster in a car, 265kmh on my ZX12, 240kmh in my 540 and Corvette. Corvette still pulls like a train at that speed while the 540 is nearing the end but it's like sitting in your living room even at that speed. I wouldn't recommend these speeds to anyone, I did them on lonely stretches of highway and only as fast as I could get there and back down. Had to be done though ;D

Had a an 85 cutlass with around a 375hp small block and 273 gears out back! and a th350  you could bury the speedometer in 2nd gear at around 4600 I have no idea how fast I got that car up to but the windows used to pop out of the track somewhere in the middle of third and it started to feel REALLY loose shortly after that... sure miss that car though

Ahhh the 80's when cars were flying bricks aeodynamically. I remember watching Nascar and the cars would simply go airborne because of bad air, roof flaps came in shortly after this period I believe.

Thankfully we lowered the car or I think it would have been worse... when I got it someone had put a leaf lift kit on the back and it had some rusty cragers with 14x10"wide polyglass tires (older than the car) it handled very bad I put some thrifty AR 15" rims on with 205/60(I think) rubber on and it was a much better car also had every inch of suspension changed and added a rear sway

it's plenty fast when you're getting a speeding ticket for twice the limit plus 10 ;)
