YES and YES. Auto is undesirable because the whole fun of riding a bike is shifting through those gears. No there are not as many of them out there. They are desirable to some chopper guys as you can clean up the handle bars without a clutch lever. Also, amputees like them for the same reason.

They did have low production numbers of 1500-4500 depending on the year.  So yes they are rare but I would not call them undesirable.  Wouldn't mind having one just because they are unusual and unique.  Some parts that are unique to the bike may be harder to find due to the low numbers.  They don't seem to have any collector value which is odd as that is often based on rarity.

In stock form they are rather sluggish. It has been over 30 years since I last rode one but that is my recollection of the auto, plus they were somewhat cumbersome in size. From what I see now the value is low, it seems that the 400 and 450 autos are commanding more money than the 750.  At least in my area...Larry

The 750A was and still seems to be fairly popular in bracket racing due to its consistency.

Rarity does not drive vintage bike prices..

 Rarity & DISIREABLITY does...

I am sure there are a few years of Jawas that may be rare, but may not be high priced...ti illistrate what I mean...
