if your brake rotor took some of that blow, it's probably bent or out of true. this can be fixed pretty easily.

Thanks so much guys. I bought a pair of used ‘78 forks and a ‘74 lower tree and stem along with an all balls bearing kit. I’ll be working on this in the next couple days or next week and hopefully everything else is in order!

Hey guys,

It being March and riding season coming up fast, I'm back on putting this bike together.  I got the races, bearings, trees, and forks all on and am realizing that my C-shape caliper mount won't work with my now '78 forks.  I've been trying to find out if I can use the old caliper and just buy a '78 caliper mount.  Will my '71 or '72 caliper mount to the '78 caliper mount or do I need to buy a '78 caliper AND mount?

Cant remember the year of your bike, if it's a 3 bolt mount, try it.
