Topic: How come all my posts on greenspun boards dont count? boo hoo.

My god, just noticed HOW LITTLE posts are showing that I have done, and realised that  all the millions ( well many, many) posts from the old greenspun boards have not been carried over and consequently I am classed as a "newbie" and have NO Karma Or ability to give it .
this was a bit of a shock after all the old posts that i did and the time i spent doing them, I feel a little depressed and will have to consult the medicine cabinet right away to sort out my chemical imbalance. I feel slightly "stitched up". Has this happened to anyone else?

I can offer some help with the Karma deficit, but as for the impending medicinal addiction.. don't know.

I hadnt even though about the Greenspun days, good point though, as I too had at least several hundred posts there.

We can sort the Karma problem for you fairly soon as the "Keep it / ditch it" poll ended this weekend with 75 (ish) % in favour of ditching it.

So you'll have no Karma like everybody else...

As for Greenspun, those of us who were there know who we are and who you are (were) so don't worry too much about it, just keep posting.

I don't give a daXX about my number of contributions here or there. If only that would mean some kind of monthly wage that would be different, but as there is no other compensation than the inner feeling of helping some unknown wrencheads out there, I don't mind about my number of contributions. Actually, I just noticed that I have exceeded the thousand. Please buy Siemens stuff; many of my contributions has been written while at work... ;-)

Hey Raul, as another ex-Nortel guy you will understand when I shudder to see the word "Siemens"

Since leaving in 98, I have worked (as a consultant) for Cisco, Siemens and Lucent.  Still prefer Nortel though.

I started my career in Siemens, accepted a killer offer in Nortel to find out a company I didn't like to work in, and was lucky to be accepted back in Siemens... keeping my new salary.

I feel in my company like at home, but there are some clouds in the horizon. Guess why?... job is drying up due to the asian companies. Siemens has already sold its mobile phone division to Benq.

The post count only applies to these forums.  The Greenspun boards were different software - we were very fortunate to be able to download all of the old posts and get them into the archives.  Creating accounts for everyone from the Greenspun forums and getting post counts correct and all that would have required tons of work.  Your old posts still exist and they are still useful to people who visit this site looking for information that helps them keep their SOHC/4 motorcycles on the road.  Your time wasn't wasted.  And, yes, this happened to everyone.  But, everyone's Greenspun posts are still online at http://www.sohc4.net/greenspun/
