Glad I could be of some service, even if it is counterproductive.  Keep us informed on the SL350 progress.  I'm curious as to performance on that one.  I may be in the 350 club pretty soon, so I may want to compare notes with you and Derrick.

I went to the motorcycle shops to get some info yesterday and got some hopeful news. I was talking to the guys at the Harley shop (biggest mc repair shop in Melbourne), and asked them about apprenticeships. They told me to bring in my resume and they'd pass it on to the right people. Abby's printing my resume out at work today and I'm meeting her for lunch to pick it up then go drop it off. The shop also has a big section in the back with LOTS of old bikes. There was a 1968 BSA 650 that would make you cream your jeans, heaps of old Triumphs, some real neat old Harleys (even some old Army ones), cool old Nortons, and even a few Hondas. They had one sohc4 cb750 with the gold paint job that looked real nice. They said it was a 72, but the VIN plate was gone off the neck so it only had the number stamped on the frame. The paint job had to have been a resto but was nicely done. The engine needs to be cleaned up. It's not covered in grease, but it's not pretty. They're asking $10,000 for it! It looked nice, but damn! The cheapest bike in the lot was a 72 or 73 cb450 dohc twin for a little more than 6k. I may go get some pics later when I drop off my resume. Good luck on your 350 projects guys! I'm missing our rides.

Those prices are outrageous.  Maybe we should get everybody on the forum to start mailing you bike parts, so you can piece one together to ride while you're down there.

That would be rad. We looked at a sweet townhouse a couple days ago that has a nice garage and a built in workbench (with a vice). I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that place because it would be prefect. Abby even suggested that I could just buy cheap bikes to fix and sell instead of getting a job if we got that place.

I was sitting on the toilet taking a crap yesterday, thinking to myself what Adam was up to? I guess this answers my questions.

I'll start looking into a good international shipper now.

I traded those off for the cb headers I have now. I think I know a guy that may have a set though if you want me to check.

I haven't quite made it "in" yet, but lord knows I'm trying. (did that sound dirty?)

I contacted Terry from the forum, but he said he's out of town right now. He's supposed to contact me when he gets back in town. I think he may be able to help me get a bike together better than anyone else. I think I'm going to have to re-take my mc license test over here too.

Have you been working on your australian accent? Do you call Abby " sheila" all very important if you want to fit in. OOOHH I almost forgot the most important one " throw another shrimp on the Barbie" whatever that means. probably some sort of aquatic beastiality that the europeans and european outcasts are well known for. Good luck and fair the well.

Not really working on my accent, but trying to learn all the lingo. For instance: Beer (beea) comes in 3 sizes; pots, schooners (skoonas), and pints. You can also get a jug which is what we call a pitcher (about 5 pots). A pot is about the size of a coffee mug, a schooner is about a 12oz glass, and a pint is well...a pint. Small shrimp are the only ones called shrimp. Large shrimp are called prawns. Crayfish are lobster sized crawdads without pinchers. An el camino style car is very popular and considered "manly". They are called utes(sp?). I think it has something to do with it being a utility vehicle. That's your "how to speak Aussi (Auzzi)" for the day. Cheers (cheas) mates!

Somethings will never cease to amaze me.  There is a clean Wing camouflaged under the drab green, but with what looks like sawed off pipes I bet it sounds like an evinrude...

Just so everyone knows, my email got hacked this morning. Not sure why the porn world is doing this to me right now, but apparently I've been bad and need to be punished.

Brad, wasn't sure if you'd already spotted this or not, but someone's got a mess of BMW parts on the ebays within a reasonable distance ...

I hope this thing goes for stupid money or I may have to buy it (and drive to OK city). I am lusting after those lesters and I can see my scrambler project in there somewhere. I wont have to go much further to be out of my price range.

From 8:10-8:11 someone or thing successfully sent out spam to my whole address book. What's stupid though is that when I try to send a bulk email to everyone to let them know about it, yahoo thinks that I am sending out spam. So apparently everyone will just have to be smart enough not to click the links.

edit:

This is my 777th post. Because it is obviously a sign from God, I will no longer post here ever again.

Pretty late in the game to be changing Scrambler projects, ain't it?

No such thing as too many projects, for sure.  You could always shoot for something like this, too:
