Where Does This Missing Part Go?

The motor is out and most everything removed.  I was yesterday doing the final strip down to the frame.  I removed the front wheel and brake, triple clamp, rear wheel and brake, side stand, center stand & swingarm.  Probably after I removed the rear wheel I laid it over on its side to get to the stands and swingarm.  After getting everything off, uprighting the frame and putting away the tools I find this part.  Not the center stand pivot axle, but the small bushing!




For the life of me I cannot seemed to figure out where it came from.  I have been taking pictures of the tear-down and bagging everything in labeled freezer bags.

Anybody recognize this part?

Looks like the steel dowel insert that is used in some of the rubber grommets. I believe the grommets for the battery tray have these steel inserts as well as the grommets for the guage (tach/speedo) mounts, the rear fender grommets (I think) as well as various other grommets. The parts fiche may show some of these.

Hmm looks pretty small but some good detectives around here. You didn't mention the bikes model,is it a 750??

Oh yeah, the tail light mounting grommets have these as well (I had my tail light off this weekend) where the light mounts to it's bracket.

Oh sorry, its a '75, 750F.  I took the tail light rear fender assembly off probably a month ago so I would not think it was from that.  Maybe it lodged somewhere in the frame based on earlier parts removal and fell out/off when I turned the frame on its side?  I really took allot of care removing each part, looking and photographic each connection, etc.  I just cannot figure out where this little bushing goes.  Looks really clean so it wasn't exposed to the exterior!

For some reason I am getting a rear disc brake caliper area vibe or maybe to much coffee  :D   Edit----I see a part #28 on the Cyclepartsnation fiche but it won't let me post a pic ??? Here is a pic from my home made parts book.

Most rubber parts with a round hole through them have this inside. Battery box and fender grommets.

Congrats!  You guys are great!!

It turns out it was the rear brake, but not at the rear brake body connection, but at the swingarm connection!!

Rear brake arm, one side to brake, one side to swingarm

Bushing goes at end of bracket and yes there is one just like it at the brake body end
