Some are, some aren't. Best way to find out is by entering the partsnumber in one of the look up functions on sites like http://www.motogrid.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/7/default.aspx

Yeah, I tried that.  The foam isn't identified by itself but the seat had a different number.  A guy had a 500 and 550 seat foam listed on ebay with one of them sold.  He hasn't answered my "Which on do you have left?" question.  The auction implies to me they are the same but I don't want to risk it...

I'm not talking F vs. K.  I'm talking 500 vs 550.  Look at the auction, you'll see what I mean.  I'm led to believe they are the same from the auction, but I don't want to assume...

"The auction implies to me they are the same..." was stated in reference to 500 vs 550 seat foam.

I provided a difference based on the same year of 550 models.

If there are differences between the 550 models it stands to reason there certainly are differences between some 500 models and some 550 models.  I thought knowledge of this fact it would atleast support your being sure to find out more before perhaps "taking a chance".  A statement of "500 seat foam is the same as 550 foam" is not entirely correct.  However, I do not know the exact information you are looking for.
