  • I love to restore & travel. Keep'em Going Strong !
I still use a 3/4 helmet and the 5-snap clear shield with the 3 top snaps used for a visor;had skin cancer on my face/nose a couple times since I moved out here 6 years ago.. I just broke my shield after dropping my helmet yesterday and I'm bummed-out.. No spare shield,I used my last one..  :(  I'm just used to this set-up & don't want to change.
I called all around and nobody has one and I try to order one to get here by Thurs.(it's supposed to rain until Thurs.)but either they're back ordered or some other reason I can't order one.  >:(

I have an old solid white(gotta have white) Shoei RF800.. full face helmet L ( 7 3/8-7 1/2" / 58-60cm)but the inner liner/padding is falling apart and I don't have the $ yet for the new Full face helmet w/ removable/washable liner(I prefer 3/4 even though it's not as safe..)and special sun-block shield, but working toward it.
Does anyone have a spare clear 5 snap that accepts the snap-on 3-snap sun visor ?
Do you know of a place that will put a fresh liner/cheek pads in my Shoei RF-800;a type of helmet liner restoration ?
I really like the RF-800 and the inner shell looks and feels great, imo. Plus the shield mechanism has had very little use.
                                                                                                                       thanks,Bill  ;)

  • To many bikes-but lookin' for more
I used to buy those pretty cheap from a seller on E-bay from Michigan but last time I checked I could hardly find a clear one anymore. Got one or two still in the packaging from them/E-bay back then but want to really kill the old ones first. Hate driving into setting sun with a scratched up shield, especially in the late fall.

Steve, EVERYTHING is known to the state of California to cause cancer. Moonbeam Jerry Brown started that crap.

I've been using a white GMAX L. 3/4 helmet since this year and the Paulson mod. 3TP clear shield.
I made the mistake of putting my helmet on the seat, rather than the ground.. it Did hit the ground face first.  ::)  :D
I'll learn.  ::)

A flip up helmet might be something?
I have that type which is very comfortable. No issues wearing glasses when helmet goes on-off.

Built in sun visor which is very useful.  I use the clear visor, sun visor can quickly be closed when needed. Up when not.

I ordered an extra visor with helmet, tinted wich look tough but not useful in sunset,  darkness or dark parts of the road.

There are tons of clear bubble shields but the flat, clear shields are hard to come by.

I guess I'd recommend checking with Snowmobile shops next.

Man that takes me back. I went through many of these when I was a kid.
I don't remember one lasting more than a couple of weeks at most.
They'd either get scratched up or I'd drop my helmet and crack it.

That's it.  :D
I made one last 2 years by being very careful.
I use Slipstreamer Motorcycle Windshield Cleaner & Polish spray to keep the hazing/scratches down and I can see through them very well.

Ordered there for some years ago.
Visirs to my old but not much used Shoei Dominique Sarron replica helmet from 1989-1990. I think RF200 model.
I had to read the stamp on original visir to determine C10 or C10A.

What do they call those head covers? You know, the one that you put on before putting on your helmet,to help absorb sweat ?

Hot weather with the red label on the left ?

Do they have a little padding,or just a sheer head cover ?
