Anybody have any input on this site? I've had a bunch of people ask me to join but never did because it just seemed like a business Facebook. The most recent person to ask me to join is somebody I've contracted work from in the past so I now have a direct reason to be interested. Anybody with a business have anything to say +/- about LinkedIn? Typically I have no inclination towards anything more than a forum as far as the net goes but I'm always open to evolution/de-evolution if it means there might be a work connection.

Cheers, Mike

It is good and I have been a member for quite a few years.  I would recommend that you keep the contact list limited to people that you are business associates that you trust and that trust you.  It is a good way to keep in touch with former colleagues. In this economic climate, the old adage about 'It more often who you know instead of what you know' that may get you in the door.

I agree in that it depends on what you want. It may help you perhaps with business connections. I've had my connection there for a few years but spent zero time on it yet recently got contacted by a former boss and also a colleague from many years ago who just wanted to stay in touch. It was fun. I am retired so the payback for me is in memories, not job prospects.
