$300?  are they really worth that much less then the other models?  I just watched a earlier one sell for $700.

Yeah mate, sadly they don't got for anywhere near the Mk1, even though they're lighter and arguably, more reliable than them. They just don't look as cool, and considering that any modern electronic ignition is way better, nowadays it's all about the look.......... ;D

Kinda lame....lol
well the guy found some lower gear thing but not the whole unit.
either way its on its way to me.  ill clean it up and see whats what before figuring out if it can be used or just passed on

No worries mate, I just realised that the whole guts of your ARD is missing, that's a stock CB750 points plate in there, not the correct ARD magneto, so all you've got there is the aluminum case and part of the distributor.

I've realised also that it's not a MK3 but a MK2 electronic ignition, as the MK3 has a removable circular points cover set in the outer cover that yours doesn't. Also, the special ARD "black box" is missing, and not really wanting to rain on your parade further, the special ARD coil is missing also.

Not a real biggie, as the EI ARD's weren't real reliable, and that's why the MK3's went back to points. I can send you some pics of mine if you'd like? Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Well I want it of course, as all the guts from my Kawasaki ARD will go straight in. How about 100 bucks plus shipping? Cheers, Terry. ;D

I'll get the pics up tonight.
I really do want to run a mag on this bike...but I have a hard time spending almost twice what a dyna 2000 would be...if you get what I mean.
I dont mean to be cheap as I know that cool parts cost money and if you wanta play you have to pay...but sometimes I really wonder who is out there spending that money...
Hell everyone here #$%*es when they see a 750 on CL with a $3000+ price tag...so I figure it's not guys here...
People own these bikes but aren't members here??...lol

Fair bit longer.
I might just run it in the "stock" position and keep a spare chain, sprocket for the full drag lenght.

So the "mag" came in.
not really sure what to do know.....

Well life has been getting in the way and not much has been done with this bike.
Still waiting on some parts..
the motor pipe and some other bits are going to be used on a different bike and a mild motor will go in this bike first.
kinda thinking street/strip

new goal is rolling in the next two weeks with a GL front end
need to get the frame re braced as im not all that happy with how it came out

Jag,

I have used Carpenter Industries in East Syracuse for tons of blasting and coating projects. Great prices and great work. The contact there is named Brud. He's pretty quirky, but a good dude. Just in case you wanted to take a little detour between the island and Potsdam.

Those bits look interesting William, pity that ARD's not complete, if it was it's be worth $600.00 plus. What carbs are those? Cheers, Terry. ;D

Guess I should have put some more details.
Well this bike is getting put in line behind my CR so some parts are being used on that bike instead of this one...well for now....its a long tangled web of cb750 parts in my garage.

But I bought some solex mikunis

They are waiting on gaskets right now.  finished cleaned and soda blasting them

Me being me and not being able to leave well enough alone found a pair of dellorto 40s....and started thinking.
Wouldnt it be fun to be able to run different side drafts?  well i thought that the dellorots, webers and mikunis all used the same mounts...but i was wrong.  From what i now understand the dellortos and the webers are the same.  but as you can see in the pictures the mikunis are much smaller....and lighter.

I REALLY want to make some manifolds to run the dellortos or webers on one of my bikes....It would be fun to have lesters and side drafts on both my 750s.

The ARD seems to have the important bits so i figure its a good start.  I have a pair of good FM mags on the way and I hope that i can used those parts to make the ARD work.  I need to dig up the thread with the pulley, belt and mag part numbers.
Either way it was cheap.

No worries mate, Get onto Jon, (BlueTurbo) he can send you a link to a supplier for the pulleys and belt. Those carbs are interesting, and I know what you mean about the weight, I had a set of Dellorto's with a NOS manifold, they looked great, but they weighed a lot compared to the CR's. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Well it kinda rolls!

Not 100% sure what it is but it fits perfect, its light and really cool.
I think it works well with the drag swing arm.

Is that right Mick? Most of those horrible Tracey tanks I've seen are smaller and have the integrated seat? Anyway, that one looks nice. Cheers, Terry. ;D
