500 cylinder head compatible with 550

hello,
from my last post I have a bad cylinder head found a couple on ebay an a junk yard in phoenix also talked to a machine shop to see about magnaflux then get the head welded if it is in a weldable spot. Then i was doing some google searches an found a article about someone breaking off a spark plug in the block an a reply to his post was any year 550 head will work as well as a 500. I have a spare 500 motor so will that match up(work) thanks paul

so will a 500 head work with a 550. its a 72 500 head going on a 78 550 an going to be using the valves an new valve guides from the 550, did I waste my time cleaning the 500 head ??

all the 500/550 heads are identical, the 77/78 rocker cover with the locked shafts is the best one to fit on top
