CB750 K1 speedo with straight cable connection??
« on: November 05, 2010, 02:02:58 PM »
I bought myself a 1971 original Dutch CB750 K1 (they are very rare). The bike demands a lot of work to get it back to its original shape, but I have one.

Pics are here:  http://picasaweb.google.com/113045058952539372893/HondaCB750K11971#

The strange thing is: the km/h speedo is a K1 gauge, with the lights in the gauge, but with a straight cable connection. I also have a miles K1 speedo, but that one has the connection out of the middle (as you understand what I mean)

Have you ever seen this?

And the horn is white, is that right for the K1?

The straight drive speedos and tachos were Honda remade in the late seventies and early eightys, i have aslso seen these used for K0, these were not original fitment the offset drive type is correct.
Also the Grey horn is not CB750K1 it should be black, i have seen grey horns on very early sandcast cb750 Regards Tom

Great, thanks for your answer.

How do I know whether this horn is from a early K0 or from a different Honda?

Its hard to know the early cb750 had a left side mounting horn, look at the date code on the grey plastic. and note where the cable exits the chrome cover they are different on other models tc

I have figured out that this really is an early sandcast grey horn.
