Sorry about to hear about the shingles,

I am a ginny so I went with a nolan helet that fits the cafe look.

I like the fact its a little over the top.

I don't know what that bike looks like up close, but on my laptop, it looks fantastic. The PO must have stored it in his living room for the past 30 years. I say keep it original. If you want to throw some money at it, buy some original pipes. That will double the price of the bike. Cafe your next bike.

It's not perfect...here's what I've found flaw-wise:

LH Side Cover has a 2" crack
Very light pitting in various places
The headers are pretty good but the mufflers are junk
The rear tire needs replacing soon...there is light cracking
The fuel leaks if a little if I don't shut off the petcock.
There's an oil leak in the rear oil line.
Slight oxidation around the engine block.

Also, can you guys give me any pointers on deciding if the paint is original vs an older restoration?  If so, I'd appreciate.  It doesn't have the helmet safety sticker on the gas tank and that got me wondering if it hadn't been repainted (possibly fully restored) at some point.

Godwin's Law (modified) in action again, guess it was inevitable in a discussion about the "bubble".
You got a good bike at a good price, not a great one at a great price, oh well....buyers remorse or apples to oranges, let's just ride.

You know how it goes, can't mention cafe without brining out the anti-cafe nazi's. :)

I don't think anyone is anti cafe, its just when someone buys a good straight bike and hacks it up that pisses me off, there are plenty of basket cases out there to mod, why destroy a perfectly good bike...I am building 3 highly modded bikes and all 3 are being built from parts, only one bike was complete {F1} but it was used on a farm by a huge guy to round up cattle.....no #$%*.... ;D

I hope there is a bubble.  That way in three or fours years, these bikes will be worthless (like my house) and I can buy 2 or 3 more of them...

I wasn't trying to suggest this site was anti cafe was just referencing another members (WarwickE36) observations about Stockers vs. Modifiers.  It's humorous post about Godwin's Law and Nazi's.   Not going to get into another debate over the pros vs cons on this one but my bike was already modded when I got it and it was ridden uphill both ways to school so I feel OK tweakin her a little.
