cleaned up my idiot lights

Keep in mind the housing still needs to be coated in satin black (along with pretty much everything else), but this gives you the basic look.  It's nice to see some of the little side projects coming together... as slow going as they may be.

Btw, if someone can recommend a readily available thin, lightweight glue to secure the new plate to it's base, I'd appreciate it.

I just did mine with 3M trim adhesive but any kind of automotive trim adhesive will work.

Contact cement would be very similar to what they used. You would need just a tiny amount.

I did mine about 3 weeks ago and used contact cement from O' Rielly's. That stuff is sticky as @!#$!
