so i dropped off my 750 at Corbin today, one hell of a place they have down there! They still need an early model (lever release 69-70 i think) i believe they are going to do the seat with the bikes side by side, so it will be one seat fits both, yet can accommodate both latch systems... anybody?

we also need to decide on the style of seat that they are going to produce, when i asked which they were going to do, Greg said he would refer to the forum to see what the public wants. i mentioned the gunfighter, and he mentioned how the cafe scene is getting much larger and told me to check out the seat they make for the Norton...

http://www.corbin.com/norton/nortonsmug.shtml

i do love the gunfighter, but this Smuggler seat has me intrigued... now im not 100% on anything, and i dont think work will begin untill they get the other bike (i found out while getting it ready this morning that it has some cheap replacement sidecovers, which just wont do for tooling the seat) so everything is kind of up in the air at the moment.

What do you all want to see them make for the K? im not sure that they will do more than one style, but who knows...

me personally, its either the gunfighter or something like the smuggler...

Do Corbin know how many cafe seat makers there are out there, how about something tidy for the more stock looking or tastefully modded K models. Cafe #$%* is becoming a disease.... ???

Which is why I was thinking gunfighter, but it's all about what's gonna sell! And from what I understood the final decision will come from this forum, so keep the opinions coming!!!

No pics, no nothin. You can get an idea from the norton gunfighter, it should be similar... But we are starting from scratch here as someone decided somewhere down the line that these bikes were a thing of the past and tossed everything they had for them, tooling, pics, everything gone!

Yeh I dig the Smuggler too and I'm sure if they made a seat with a removable cowling a la Triumph Thruxton there would be plenty of interest.

I would also prefer the gunfighter (2-seater - like MCRiders Phaedrus seat) - here is an example for the nighthawk

http://www.corbin.com/honda/9195750gun.shtml

I usually sit on the stock seat at the level of the strap (long legs) so would prefer a seat with some room to shift to where the middle of the stock seat is  (strap).

Cheers
Andy

+1
My main wish is for it to be more comfortable than stock while still retaining the ability to slide back on the seat for more leg room. Gel insert perhaps?  :-\

I had this seat on my '89 FJ1200. It was very comfortable.

Yea. I just dropped mine off there yesterday (see post -3 :)  )

But we need ideas on what type of seat we think would be best.....

I have had a few Corbin seats, and they were always confortable and looked good, but if can come up with ideas, so much the better.
