Carb sync in Denver
« on: March 14, 2011, 12:58:29 PM »
I went through my cabs and everything seems to be OK but I'd like to double check. As all I'm doing is double checking and I only have you SOHC4, I'd rather not buy a kit. If I have to, then so be it but if there is anyone in or near Denver that would be willing to let me use their sync kit, that would be awesome.

Edit: I can supply beer ;D

I just synced a set of carbs for the first time and was amazed at how much difference an 1/8th of a turn could make to the entire motor. I'd say if it's running great don't worry about it but if you have any issues (weird idle, dead spots, etc.) get yourself a sync tool. I paid a $100 for a Motion Pro and it works fine. Others on this site hate that thing and if I had any experience w/ anything else I might hate it too but it worked for me. Now I'm about sync everything else I have and see what happens(3 other sohc4's and 3 dual carb vw's).
So much to do, so little time.

Anyone? I know one of you Denver riders has sync'd your carbs. There isn't a shop willing to do it in the metro area that I've found and I'd rather share some cold brews with another SOHC4 enthusiast than send my money to eBay.

I can give you a hand, PM me and we can work out a date and time. I'm available Sunday or Monday this week.
