1975 CB 750K caliper holder
« on: April 09, 2011, 12:41:13 PM »
Hello

Can anyone tell me which one of these is for a 1975 CB750K?.  I think the picture shows the differences between the two. The top holder being thicker than the bottom holder (where the caliper bolts on) is the major difference, otherwise, mounting holes line up.  I suspect the top one is for a supersport, but not sure.  Thanks again.

Ok Just thought of ebay and thru it I found pictures that tell me the top pictured holder is from a Cb400 or so bike.  Anybody want to buy it?  lol  anybody got a 75 CB 750K caliper holder for sale?   The hunt is on.

What is the distance between the caliper mounting holes? On the 750s it's 50 mm center to center; the smaller bikes are less, but I don't recall the actual measurement. The top arm looks similar to a K7-K8 750 arm.

The thin one takes the finned caliper. That is assuming the hole spacing is the same.

The thin arm on the bottom looks different than a K1 750 finned caliper arm. The curve on the bottom is greater, and the area around the adjuster hole is different.

Good info. I never measured but did set one on top of the other and the holes lined up. No subsitute for a measuring tape- i'll have a look
tomorrow. thanks.

I read in your post that your collecting parts for a dual disk set up.  So am I.  Unfortunately, I tore by bike apart, threw both of these into a box and forgot about them til now.  Now I cant recall which one came off my 75 750K.  My bike has a finned caliper so now I suspect the bottom holder is mine.  The caliper mounting holes appear to line up so then I bet it then the top holder pictured is a 750F holder.   I'll measure tomorrow but I'm sure my caliper will mount to it.

Not counting the 77-78 f there are 3 caliper brackets (holder), k0-k2 with the finned caliper, k3-k5 with the finned caliper and k6-k8, f0-f1, & a with the plain 42mm caliper. So the finned caliper will fit later bikes with the k3-k5 bracket. The k0-k2 bracket only works with the finned caliper and you can't do dual brakes. The bracket for the finned calipers is 10mm thick. The later 42mm caliper is 17mm thick. The distance between the mounting holes is 50mm. If the bracket in the picture is 10mm thick where the caliper mounts its a k3 bracket and takes the finned caliper.

Hard to tell from the pics but the top on does, indeed, look like an F caliper bracket. The bottom is probably the one for your '75 K model.

Just to follow up, both holders measure up as you wrote here.  Both caliper mounting holes measure 50mm.  The thick one is 17mm across and the thin one is 10 across.  As I'm converting to dual disk it I'm searching for another K3 bracket.  Thanks for everyones help on this!! ;D

There's a complete K3-K5 setup on ebay right now. caliper, holder, master, etc.

I posted this in the ebay section of the classifieds too.
