Float hinge pins didn't survive

Hey guys - guess I'm not the first to sacrifice float hinge pins on a rebuild. Like to think I did a fair amount of searching and have been unable to find just hinge pins for a 1975 cb550K 022A carb set. Gotten lucky in the past - hope my luck hasn't run out. The FAQ's show lots of great info up until I need to get new pins. Any thoughts appreciated.

they're brass.
couldnt you make your own for a few pennies   ???
dont recall the OD, 1.5mm?
lots of hits come up on the interwebs...

Yeah, brass stock from a hobby store? They use it for making toy car frames etc. A hardware may even have it, though may not be as small as the hobby stuff.

I used brazing rod I had at my shop. If you know a welder give him a shout. I have bronze in one bike and stainless in the other bike. No problems with either.

I used a piece of coat hanger wire 4 years ago - no problems and REAL cheap.

I think those pins are steel. I've used a drill bit the right size, just ground off the drilly part and used the solid shank.

I think the ones on the 350f are 2mm. 550 might be the same, but worth checking for sure.

If anyone is sucessful at finding brass stock in metric sizes, let me know. One set of carbs I have  came with  some clipped off finish nails that are sloppy loose.

Flyboxes link above is metric. Shouldn't be a problem.
