Noobie question - foot peg
« on: April 08, 2006, 12:29:58 AM »

Hey all, here's another pee-wee pitch, but there's a first time for everything. Are CB 500 foot pegs bolted on the swing arm bolt? I'm trying to get the left foot peg off but the nut just turns -- my sense is that turning it is simply turning the entire bolt. To get it to unthread (I'm assuming it's lefty-loosey, why not) do you have to secure the other end somehow? Thanks for any tips.

The footpegs are held on with a threaded rod that also serves as a motor mount. You have a nut on each end of the rod holding the pegs, so one end needs to be held captive to remove the nut on the other side.
