Riders, please post your official logs here:

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=85509.0

Be as detailed or brief as you like, but please share any eventful moments of your ride, interesting people you may have met, what you liked the most, etc. Don't need lots of pictures, maybe one of the handoff or maybe a group shot of the riders you were with for however far you were able to ride. You don't necessarily have to be the one that carried the baton, but you do have to have already ridden in order to post there.

Please reserve that thread for RIDER LOGS ONLY. Comments to the riders logs there would stretch that thread out to be quite large long before the relay nears completion. By keeping that thread limited to RIDER LOGS ONLY should help improve readability for many of our forum members. I have renamed the "Godzilla Sightings in Daytona!" to "Godzilla Sightings in Daytona AND BEYOND". Please continue to use this thread for posting comments, quick updates, creative pictures of Godzilla, expanding upon the unfolding story of Godzilla's adventures, (almost) anything goes in this thread. Please reserve the Rider Log thread for factual reports and rider's insights only. Our forum moderator will be deleting comments from the Rider Log thread to help promote it's linear progression as our Relay moves forward.

Enjoy the ride guys, Godzilla's comin your way!
TAMTF...

Good idea to have a concise rider log, as well as an "open" relay thread. Details from the former, combined with the humorous commentary from the latter should give Popwood some good material for the blog.

Edit by moderator: material for the blog and MAYBE Honda's Red Rider Magazine  ;)

Ok guys, I don't know if this has been suggested in the last few days, and I know it may seem a bit late as the Relay/Rally has begun already, but I had a thought....

What if we had our friends and family pledge donations for the amount of miles we contribute to the ride and send every dollar directly to a charity that is helping with the Japanese earthquake recovery?  I've already sent the cash I could afford to donate via Paypal and I think it would be a great way to ride for a cause.  Obviously participation would be optional, but everyone that has a Paypal account can very easily contribute to their charity of choice and report their contribution to the Relay site.  This disaster is unlike any we've seen in our lifetimes and hopefully will be the last, but if we could support the recovery in any way, it would be worthwhile.  Seeing as that we are so supportive of a product Japan produced decades ago, it seems only fitting that we give back in Japan's ultimate time of need.

Anyone second the idea?  Thoughts?

Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Come on guys, lets get this back on track. I looked in here for a ride report not a charity discussion, it has already been brought up in a couple of other threads. Now, where's all the pics of today's leg guys..?  Not meaning to sound cold { and i have friends and business friends in Japan} but down our way we are all charitied out, 98% of my home state is a declared disaster zone and our Kiwi cousins are dealing with disaster as well, lets keep this for another thread and get back to the tour.... ;)

Yah I caught him soaking in the pool when we were loading up our bikes to leave Bluffton.  I think he left his room key at the waitresses pad and had to do the walk of shame back to the hotel and just decided to shower off in the pool!!!  No telling what he is up to in Columbia with all of those USC girls!!!

Ok so Godzilla has had a few days to relax here in Cola Town, let me catch you up with what he has been doing.

First he needed a shower because he was beat from riding.

Afterward he meet some of the local ladies

They must have hit it off well.

Godzilla met some of the other locals.

This did not go as well though

Now he is watching American Idol

Tomorrow he will head up to Charlotte NC, who knows what will happen there!

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!
