We did get to see some qualifying and heat races...

I wonder if that rear tire would fit my 750?

Lookin forward to getting this underway tomorrow morning. Hard to believe it's going to be in the 30's here in the morning (70's by afternoon) especially since I got sunburnt today when I laid down in the grass next to the bike and took a quick nap (chasin that damn lizard around the track all day wore me out).

Anxious to meet the members participating in our leg and hoping all riders have a safe and enjoyable ride.

We have liftoff! Thanks to "lrutt" for coming up to send me off at the speedway. His long haul ride wouldn't start this morning so he could only bring his short-haul, sidecar equiped utility ride.

That's too bad. Its Jon Seidel, I knew him a little, he used to be a Honda rep for dealers in the mid-west states and hung out at a lot of our Indiana get togethers. I think he lived in Indy for a while. Now he's the National Press guy.

I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, pretty nice guy, but too bad for us he blew it.

I spoke with Jon's boss, Bill Savino, on Thursday afternoon. Seemed very nice and genuinely interested. Said he'd contact Jon right away. Never got to talk with Jon. Perhaps Jon expected us Fri but I explained Wilbur would be there Sat am? We should have some credability after this year so maybe it will be easier next year. Good to have the contact names
