Topic: Are there any Options for 75 CB550K Petcock

I took my petcock off my 75' CB550K and the filter on it broke... I was thinking about buying a new one but even looking on Ebay they are ~$100+ so I am looking for some other options.  Anyone have any ideas???

Pingel makes petcocks, maybe even for a 550.  What part is broken?.. Lots of us have spare or unneeded parts.  The screen part could not be that expensive.

Yeah, the filter part was not the expensive part... was just going to buy a whole new one to update it a bit but That  would be awesome if someone has the part i need, The plastic part of the petcock filter and the actual filter. Also the petcock its self seems to be in rough shape but that's the part I need.... let me know if anyone has one available. It has the 2 fuel spicots. Pingel makes them but they are ~$100+ also.

Does the petcock have two screws to hold it to the tank or does it use an union nut to hold it on.  76 and 77 have the union nut, but tanks can be interchanged.  The plastic filter may be included in the rebuild kit.  If it does not leak, you could use inline filters.

My 77 550K has that petcock and my 76 550K has that union nut, but has the round bowl on the bottom with filter inside the bowl.  I bought one for the 77 2 years ago from the Honda dealer and I don't recall it being $100.  The 77 has the petcock riveted together and doesnot have a kit to repair.  I think the 77 has a single outlet.
Ronnies Mail order has the the strainer for $26 item #6 under the fuel tank section. They say the petcock is not available.  I use Ronnies because they have the fiche thing.  I go to the dealer because I don't have to pay for shipping  There many places to get parts.
