Gday Mick, are there velocity stacks that suit the RS carbs .?
How are you mate.
I don't know about availability for velocity stacks although I haven't checked that out at all.
The diameter of the carb body on the intake side is 55mm if that helps at all mate.
Maybe Ken at Cyclex might have an idea about these or one of the guys on the board here.

Hmmmmm, how do you get a 50mm stack onto a 55mm opening.?

I was speaking with Ken about this last week. I was measuring the earlyK/F boot and felt that they would fit the 34's. I have a set of RS's coming that should be here in a couple of days......looks like Mick has proved what I thought was possible. You need new manifolds and heating them up a bit also helps.
 Have you checked for frame clearance Mick? I have my old engine sitting here so I can check for the spacing fit. Come to think of it I do have a a K  in the back with the engine in it that I can check with.
 Ken has used the F2 boots in the past which are shorter. I told him I really didn't like the idea of the F2 boots on a K because #1 the F2 spigots are larger and #2 you can't get the manifolds from Honda.
 I bought the last set of 34's that Ken has. He can order more but he has to rerack them. I can also get them from Ken if some poeple would like a group buy at a discount price.
 Ken also has his new 915cc kits available. I'll post some pics but I will say the sleeves are very nice and can be used with an 836 kit as well. the 915 pistons are a new design Wiseco (different from the old 915 pistons) and are light. It's a nice package. ken will soon be getting MLS head gaskets which makes the package even better.

Well I've managed to get these fitted up with a bit of a struggle and teeth gritting.
It was a small alignment issue with the head spigots but no biggie.
I loosened the 2 holding bars for the rack which was enough for a bit of give and a bit of persistance and they gave in eventually.
I'll also slot the screw holes in the holding bars a bit more as they are a little bit tight to reinstall all of the screws.
Mike, I haven't checked the frame for clearance but I'm sure that we can work around that one way or another.

That looks bad ass Mick. ;)I really like RS carbs....they are the Chevy small blocks of the carb world. Easy to tune and jets etc are not very expensive. A very tunable accelerator pump.

By the way, i have not encountered any frame clearance problems on my F model with the 36 mm flatslides. Not sure about the differences in the K frame.

They're like a small package of dynamite waiting for an ignition source.
I think that there's a ton of muscle there waiting to do a job just like the small blocks.  8)
We saw Peter Brock running 350's back in the '70s and he knew how to kick arse. (RIP Brocky)  8)

I took my racebike out yesterday for a short spin around the block to check how the RS's are working after cleaning... riding the bike felt slightly dangerous after a long winter  ;D

FrankenJon, a Mike Rieck head would be no good on your bike, it would make you to run in the 9s, then you would have to get a PRO licence.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'm tempted Sam. Very tempted. With a good head, that set of 36's would really get to working on the old Super Sport. Unfortunately i've got too many other irons in the fire right now to afford one of Mike's works of art. I'll just open this thread up from time to time and drool over the pictures and dream about a 9 second pass-lol.

   There are some options coming down the pike that will decrease the price of thinner stemmed valvetrain componants by a sizable amount. ;) I will keep folks posted

Thanks Mike, i'll be on standby. Maybe all my other projects will be done by then so i can impose upon you to work some of your magic on my F head. I've always been curiuos what the bike would do with a much better head on top. Tommy Dix ran consistent high 9 second passes on his old Honda. Not sure what size motor he had. I heard that bike was in a shed someplace in SC.

CycleX has them listed for the same price as CR29's. I'd guess that it should be similar, but more refined for the application.
