hello fellow SOHC ppl,
my name is adam, im new to the honda sohc 4 scene but not to motorcycles, i started out on a 1997 suzuki tl 1000s V twin, sold it and a couple of years later bought a 2004 suzuki intruder 1500 which i still have, and i just picked up a 77 cb 750 with the plans of making a sick little bobber to rip around town on this summer.
parts bought so far;
Cycle One MFG weld on hard tail (Specs: 4" stretch, 5" ride height, vintage HD axle plates"
west eagle solo spring seat
5 3/4" black headlight
2" rear tail light and liscense plate bracket
single cable throttle housing with 10" over throttle cable
black powder coated ape hangers
push button start button
plan is to build it on a decent budget (aka $1500)..
im going to use the stock rear fender cut downand drilled with a line of speed holes , no front fender. For the oil tank i got a peice of a 5" truck exhaust stack to chop up and fab. the bike will be jockey shifted with the clutch lever on the shifter handle. gonna run the stock 17" Rear and 19" front wheels for now with possible upsize to 21" if i can get one on the cheap , stock front forks. i have access to some old army ammo cans the i might get for the battery box/ electricial box. im gonna leave the controls mid mounted..
i have a few questions though :
does anyone know the fitting sizes for the oil lines.
i seen a few pics of 750s with NPF fittings on an aftermarket oil tank and what looks like the stock flanges on the motor side of the oil lines with the clamps cut off?? is this a decent idea ?? and if so what would be a good size for npf fittings on the oil tank for good oil flow??
ill get some pics up in a build thread when parts start showing up , it takes a long time for stuff to come from the states to the east coast of canada
thanks alot
adam
