CB400F Bars
« on: March 11, 2011, 07:42:42 AM »
Hey all, I know this in the project thread, but I did it on purpose if you can let it slide. I am currently restoring a 1977 cb400f, but it is the US version and therefore has the higher handlebars. I was wondering if anyone on this project forum that has redone a 400f has the lower European bars still lying around after a cafe build. I would be grateful if I could buy them from you. Thanks

Sorry i don't have a set of bars for you but look for bars off a 75 or 76 model.  They are the lower bars you are looking for.  i did the same thing with my 77, changed the bars, footpegs and rear brake lever.
I don't want it to go like a motorcycle, I want it to go like a rocket!

Yeah, they just give it a sportier look. I believe the 75, 76, and the European 77 all had lower bars. I would be grateful to get any year to swap out. If anyone wants the high bars I will trade you!

Hey, the 1977 400f project I am doing came with clubman bars, which I took off and was going to put ome bars from a 450 or 550 on there, but I don't know if thats the same bar. I am kinda a freak about everything stock, perfect. I don't knoe if you want to trade for them. They look OK. If I could figure out how to send a f$%^#&$^ picture on this thing I would send one. Thanks, Paul

I've got an odd set of lower bars - I'll post a picture and would like to trade for stock.

Are they Honda bars? I would rather have Honda bars, but post a pic and I'll take a look.

Whoops - I misunderstood, thinking you were someone else replying to your initial message.  No, they're not Honda bars, and that is what I'm searching for.  These are... interesting... bars.  Not sure who made 'em.

Hey fishobos, to post a picture, first select reply or post, type your message and then look to the "Additional Options..." just to the left of the Post/Preview/SpellCheck buttons.... click on Additional Options, then "browse" for the pic you want, (be sure it is not too "large") and there you have it! I have a really nice set I just took off my 76 400f I would sell. They have no pitting and are void of any dents or bends. Interested?

If they are the lower bars (which they should be I am very interested. PM or e-mail (probably quicker) me with what you are looking to get and we can wheel and deal from there. Thanks a bunch
