Is this a CB650?

yes it'a an ohc 650 but it's not an '87. dohc 650's started in '83

The model and year should be on a plate on the steering neck unless it was removed.  It certainly looks like a sohc 650...Larry

Its a 82 nitewawk.  Yes its a sohc4.   Only year of it.  Its not any original color.

I concur, look at the tank and exhaust. Both are nighthawk.

The exhaust is irrelevant in the pic as its been cut or its a aftermraket 4-1.  The Tank looks like a 83 + nitehawk but it is a sohc4 and it has the nitehawk gauges.  Might be something someone put together as it dont look like the "black" motor.

So you make no distinction between a SOHC and a DOHC?

It's hard to tell from the pic but it looks like the "black" sohc 650 engine to me (might just be really dirty), it has the aluminum passenger peg mounts, and look at the front brake rotors.  It's definitely not 100% stock or complete but I would say it's mostly an 82 nighthawk.

After looking again it does look black.   was going to mention the rotors too.
The wheels are 82 only nitehawk.
