Thanks guys...I will indeed enjoy riding this one. Now to concentrate on getting the shop done. I was hoping I could finish this before we started the rough in. The absence of a decent  pipe #1 had me concerned. According to the dealer Honda had it shipped direct from Japan because the others in the USA warehouses were the rejects with bad chrome. The next expected delivery date for a new #1 is mid-May. I guess they are building new pipes to replace those rejects. Pics of those rejects are a few posts up on page 10.

Looks great! When you polish, I take it you use a bench grinder? When I use mine, for some reason I am always congested the next day. Do you have this as well?

Tews - it's always good to wear a respirator or at least a dust mask when doing a lot of polishing/buffing.  if you hate those things like I do, they make hoods that sit behind the motor and spindle(s) that creat a vaccuum draw that suck the particles into a filter pad.  you could probably even rig one with a shop vac and a small vent hood.

you'd be surprised how much polishing media gets atomized when you're using the wheel.  the hoods are kinda pricey, but who knows kinds of stuff is in polishing compound that you probably don't want to breathe in all the time.

Hey Johnie - the K3 looks fantastic! Your attention to fine detail is second to none.  What a beautiful bike, and wonderful preservation/restoration job you did.  Perseverance pays off in the end.  ;)

I think I can officially end this project thread as of today. I resolved the last issue with this K3. I ran out of space on the timing plate. I could not rotate it any further to get the timing spot on. The new points made a big difference and got my timing plate space back. Just got back from a ride and she runs tops. No back firing, puffing or anything. She just runs excellent. Current mileage is 5,700 which means I have put almost 400 miles on it since bringing it home last fall. Thanks for following and offering your thoughts and encouragement along the way. Ride on fellas... 8)

Hall...nothing in the works right now. These K's just seem to find me and I will wait for the next one to come along I guess. Right now I am just putting the final touches on the shop and it is sort of nice not having something I have to do right now. Just enjoying the riding time here in WI.

There is no shortage of bikes at your house that's for sure. What's your process for deciding the one to ride for the day? I'm going to put you on the spot, If you had to down size your collection for what ever reason witch K would be the first to go? Eenie meenie miney mo, Hahaha ;D
