1973 CB200 - put out to pasture
« on: March 15, 2011, 05:00:19 PM »
Its amazing what some people will do. :( :( They get tired of something like this little CB and prop it up against a wall and abandon it and forget that it's even there. My son ran across this and knowing his old Dad's interest in old Honda's he stopped and took these pics. Do you think this little guy is to far gone or could he be brought back to life? Might not be a bad project bike.

How much would you want to put into it is the big question?? Maybe more than it would be worth in the end.Looks pretty complete to bad it was left out like that.

1)  Go out and buy your son a soda/beer, just for looking out for neat stuff!

2)  Looks restorable, but be prepared to sink a lot of money into it, probably well more than it's worth.  If that isn't an issue, a person could be patient and wind up with a really good commuter bike.  My mom had one that she rode back and forth to work for years, and finally replaced it with a Honda 350 four.  :)

If the engine is stuck, I'd pass.  If by some miracle it is not, it might be worth a look.  Then it depends how much time you want to spend cleaning and refinishing.  It would help if someone could give you a reliable answer on why it was parked.

I'm a sucker for 'em.

If it had a title, I'd be paying $250.  No title, I'd probably take it only for parts.  And even then, I'd be sorely tempted to get 'er running / ridable.
