CB550 cylinder head and cylinder head cover
« on: March 22, 2011, 03:40:26 PM »
Hello all.
I've bought a used cylinder head cover for my CB550; the old one was cracked. Just after receiving the one I bought on e-bay, I realized that the camshaft goes between the cylinder head and its cover. My question is, should I change both, cylinder head and cylinder head cover as a complete set, or can I use the cover I've just bought on the old head?
Thank you.

As long as both pieces are in spec, and the cam bearing surfaces are smooth, you'll be good to go.
