Arlo Guthrie
« on: March 18, 2011, 12:56:04 PM »
The in-laws got me two tickets to see Arlo Guthrie tomorrow night. He's pretty chill, so I'm guessing that his show will still be good. Can't complain about free tickets anyway.

Arlo puts on a great show!  He tells a lot of great stories between songs.

"Alice's Resturaunt" is always on the list of road songs for the road trip to see family at Thanksgiving "for a Thanksgiving dinner that couldn't be beat"...it's a tradition. Every now and then we've been known to break out the "implements of destruction".

It was an awesome show! He didn't play Alice or Motorcycle. He does tell some real good stories. I liked the story he told about his wife getting arrested at the airport because he forgot to get his tin with "herbs" in it out of the suitcase. I'm real glad that I got to see him, and I recommend going to see him if he comes near you. Now I'm ready to go see Golgol Bordello in Memphis!

Oh now I am really envious!

They're coming to Austin in April but the show is already way sold out!

They're going to New Orleans the day after the Memphis show. You should try to make one of those. I've heard from everyone who has seen them that they're one of the raddest shows you'll see. I need to get some purple.

City of New Orleans, one of my favs esp since it's an easy acoustic gat tune. ;)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!
