Newb in Houston
« on: March 03, 2011, 06:04:13 AM »
Hello all, Ive only been on here for a couple of days but ive been stalking for a few weeks doing some reading, following build threads and getting ideas.  I currently dont have a bike yet but i am actively searching! Apprently these bikes are hot commodities down here, they are either overpriced, or gone within 30 mins.  I am trying to find something from the 70s to turn into a little cafe racer bike.  Ahywho, i hope to get one soon so i can have something to post up here!

Cheers!

Welcome!

I am also from Houston. Just bought my bike in November off Craigslist. I know exactly what you mean about them going fast and for more than they should. Keep your eye out!

I actually saw mine on Craigslist literally 10 minutes after he posted it. I called him as soon as I saw it (around 10PM) and said I'd be by the next night to pick it up. I drove to Austin the next day after work and came home with my CB550 in the back of the truck :)

This is funny! I have been looking for a CB 750 for a while. Found one in craigslist last Thursday in San Antonio (I am from Austin), drove down there the same day, bought it and even rode the bike home! Still need to pick up my car in SA. BTW, will "properly" introduce myself here shortly...

Welcome from Lake Travis!

The bikes are out there, treat it like a job, look every day.

Check CL, eBay, and the Chronicle.

I also traveled to SA to buy my '77 750K.

Good luck.
