Hey just stumbled upon this build thread. We're local boys! Where in San Jose are you? How's the build going?

It's going, slowly but surely. I live near Santana Row area/Santa Clara border. Are working on a Cafe project?

Yeah I've got a 75 CB550 that I'm slowly working on. I'm down in South San Jose near where 101 and 85 meet. PM those details about that guy that did the swingarm for you. Someday when we get these babies running, we all need to cruise around together. I've got a thread going too but progress is much behind yours. Between college and work, I just dont have much time.

Nice work! I wish I had a bike to measure off handy when I did my swingarm. It's tight!!

Win some lose some, it's all the same to me.

You did! Mine!

Did you have to put a spacer below the bottom bearing to push into the bottom race?

Yes, I had to use a spacer or else the lower tripe will rub on the lower neck. I first measured the depth the step in the neck and then measured the race/bearing and washer as a stack before I pressed anything in.  The top race doesn't need a spacer.

New age CNC machining techniques used on an old school bike is a win-win for me!
