Hope you can find the owner ;) looks like it needs a good home ;D I know because of living situations at times a owner doesn't have a place to put a bike inside, but come on at least put a cover over it.

For a registered nearly complete bike (from the looks of it), $600 would be a steal around my parts.

Agreed, out here in the west that bike would probably sell for $1000-$1500,I look all the time for old CB750s and if I found that bike for that price I couldn't make that deal fast enough. I think I might just have to take a drive around the county with a trailer and pick a few up where they are cheaper! Where is that bike at?  ;D

Offer what you want to pay, leave your phone number with him, and tell him if you find another you may be out of the market..

I never understood how ppl can leave muscle cars, motorcycles, or anything else they have to sit and rot, then when someone shows interest, its worth gold, even though it has sat so long the ground has eaten the car and the floorboards are Flintstoned out.

I have never understood that mentality, the earth has reclaimed Millions worth of cars and bikes, yet "I will get to it one day" never comes.

There's a guy down the road with a yard full of 1950's cars rusting away to nothing.  Can't buy anything off him though...

$600.00 he wants for it though is not really gold prices .  If it has a chance at running and a title it would probably sell fast on CL.

I would jump at $600 myself, would love to have it but here's what we can do. if I can get a few other members to help me whith $ 10 dollar's or so I could buy it.  I'm not a poor guy it's just with me having my leg amputated in december with all the crazy meds they have me taking I just dont have the money to do it all at once. would cut me short at the end of the month Jim

Jim, are you really set on that year?.
If you ran an ad, you are in the drivers seat as far as price goes, sometimes you will find something really reasonable..that you may like more, or is even better..
Heck, its still winter, not like the one you tried to buy is likely to Fly out the door soon.....

Offer him $500 then.  Remove the faring, bags, and sissy bars and sell those for whatever you can get on eBay.  Then you should be able to shine the chrome parts, adjust the carbs and easily double your money.

He wants $600 and you're at $450? Offer him $525 and roll that puppy off!

I don't understand the Rotting Vehicle phenomenon either. There was a story on the news a couple of months ago about an old rich guy in France who died. His heirs went through his various garages to inventory his estate, and found dozens of cars, in various states of neglect. One was a Ferrari GT California, the rare one from Ferris Buehler. Under a pile of old phone books and newspapers. Unreal.
