Anyone Recognize these pistons???
« on: March 19, 2011, 07:40:24 PM »
Picks Here On Photo Bucket:
http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd484/H0NDA750/Piston%20Picks/

They are 836 pistons, but I have no clue who made them, where to get the wrist pin clips, or weather they are even decent pistons? I got them with bored jugs.  PO said that he built the motor and only ran it one time before he dissembled it (yea right :D) to sell the parts figuring he'd get more that way.  Anyway, I don't even know if it's the best decision to use them for the motor I'm building. Anyone know what I have??
Thanks for any help.

That's a Wiseco K836. We have all the parts for them.

Sorry to have wasted your time 754.  I didn't realize the skirts were the important details.  I was trying to get the tiny emblems and the numbers.  Next time I'll try and be more thorough.  Thanks for looking anyway.  Have a great day ;D

Thanks Jay!!!  I don't know what it would cost, how to specify the vintage, and I can't find it on your site, but I need new wrist pin retainers and wrist pins.  I'll shoot you a call Mon.  Thanks Again.  Really, I mean that.  What a huge help ;D

Yep, those are Wiseco's, I've got some on my bench right now, and they're identical. Looks like you might need new wrist pins mate, it looks like their last bike had lubrication issues in it's conrod's little end bearings? Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Thanks for the info Terry.  Ill replace the wrist pins and the wrist pin retainers.  Jay says he's got parts, so I will call him Mon.

I am running a very old computer so it took like a good 10 minutes to get the page up, so I did not click to expand any of the pics.
Sometimes the skirts or sides are quite distinctive, either oil grooves on the sides or, some lightening machining around the wrist pin area.

You may want to check the size/clearance , sounds like it either was not getting lube or got quite hot.

Thanks 754.  Any advice on what to look for??  Measurements??  I'm a tool maker by trade, so I know my way around a mike, and about any measuring tool that exists in my trade, but I am not an engine builder.  I wish I were, you guys see things with your eyes, I need a measuring tool to tell me the story.
Thanks Again
Tom

The clips should be OEM.  OCICBW  But Jay would have them anyway.
