I just Googled it, about the same for me from Napier to Wgtn, thinking a night in Fielding with the cousins so I break the trip, maybe Otaki on the way back to see bike mad Brother-in -law.
Now about the top of NZ?
And Christchurch down, hang on Larry is there anything past Chch? I mean is it like you'd fall off the face of the earth! Do dragons dwell there?
Don't recall any SOHC4 riders that far south.
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Any idea When Godzilla is due here?
I usually head up to Pukekohe in Feb for the Classic festival so I could give him a ride.

Hey SS, I'm thinking Oct/Nov this year but not sure, it will be in our Summer riding season though and he travels only on weekends. ;D

I could do a trip to Woodville or Norsewood to pick up our guest.
Good excuse for a run  :)

Expecting to have North America completed sometime in September. Earlier part I'd hoped. Then it's your turn. You and OZ have until the English/European spring time.

Still a bit light on Auckland riders, was thinking that is where GZ might make landfall from Canada eventually.
If we can't get any Aucks riders I'll have to get GZ landed in Napier.
Somewhere between me, Short shins and Scunny we should just about be able to cover Napier to Chch.
How long are the legs on your bike Scunny? ;D

legs on bikey are long enough Rick. I will go over the Lewis pass and up the west coast then cut back to Blenheim. then across the strait on the ferry to Wellington. how much further do I need to go ?

If you can get to Wgtn then I think we should be able to get GZ to you.
Still not much volunteering from the Northern riders?
If I can't get anyone North of Taupo I'll have to land GZ in Napier and come down your way. :)

Hmm well considering we only got about 6 SOHC4 members in NZ we may have an issue with this, I know Scunny and Toy Collector are in Christchurch and there are two members in Wellington, Fisherman Phil (who hasn't been on here for ages) is in Taranaki, must be some in Auckland surely?
Give me some time to figure this out! ;D

Hi Yeah we are around would love to get involved but need to find the person who stole all the spare parts i need for my K1!!!!!!!!

Where in NZ are you Kiwi750k1?
And how far off are you from having a rolling bike?

Hi Hush, I'm here in Auckland and am happy to pick up the "creature" from the airport when he arrives. My only running machine at the moment is the 350F aand although it would probably run for miles, it does have a small oil leak at the head gasket(no big issue-but does need attention) so I could run down to Hamilton,if that helps. PM me any time if you wish

OK now we're talking, a pick-up from Aucks would be perfect, have you ever run as far as Hamilton?
The 350 is quite a small bike to do such a long leg on but you will know your bike and it's limitations Onagd. :)
I'm thinking GZ and the banner will come in via courier post so probably pickup would be from courier depot.
As we can take our time with moving GZ we can use our weekends to do the legs, our only restriction on time is getting GZ to Aussie so they can do their leg before English spring/summer which is about now I think.

Shortshins, how would you feel about the Woodville to Wgtn leg?

Should be fine. give me a couple of weeks notice so I can finish adjusting the valves, cam chain and put the carbs back on, ie finish the winter refresh! Also one of my buddies works on the Interislander ferries and he can give the reptile a ride

Be my guest Larry if you want to ride the ferry to Wgtn.
We have about a month and a half from my guess before GZ reaches NZ shores Shortshins.
We can travel at our pace, resting GZ during the week and riding on the weekends if that works out job wise for us.

Just been in contact with some of the local Honda 4 owners who are not SOHC4 members and looks like we may have a few more riders to fill the gaps.
The more the merrier who can claim to have transported GZ across NZ.
Scunny, I have emailed the local Japanese Motorcycle Club to see if they want to meet up with you for some photos and maybe take GZ for a spin on one of their CB750's.
