Gas Tank For My CB550K
« on: April 09, 2006, 07:55:59 AM »

I wasn't sure where to post this, it is for my CB550K project, but it's a later model
tank. Anyway, I found a Honda VT750 Shadow Aero tank on ebay and my questions are:
Would it fit down over the frame suitably? Does any one know what the width is across the
front and across the rear? I really like the shape of this tank for one of my projects and, so far
        there are no other bids.

At this time, I only have about 7 hours and 10 minutes

So, if ANYONE has any input, Help!!!!

                                                      Thanks Guys, Bill

I think (problem there) the shadow tanks bolted in the front also. So you might have to make/change  mounts.

Unless there would need to be major fabrication, That wouldn't bother me. The photos on ebay
look like the front mounts similar to the 550. I know the opening at the front of the tank is probably
wider and I'd have to allow for that. I'm just concerned about the width across the front & the rear
(I don't want the forks to hit,I know you can change fork stops, and I want to have plenty of
turning ability. I also don't want the rear of the tank to so wide that it dwarfs the seat) Later on, Bill
