Need some help in Knoxville, tn.
« on: March 24, 2011, 10:12:00 AM »
Any SOHC enthusiasts in Knoxville? I just moved back here from College and my CB550 has inspired a sort of chain reaction in my family and not my dad and uncle both have motorcycles. We all have mechanical experience but none of us know much about bikes. Our goal is to have them all in safe running order by end of april. I have been working on my bike for a while and Im in the final stages of getting it running. Is there anyone on the forum from knoxville that would be willing to spend an afternoon at our garage sharing their knowledge? Beer/ food will be provided as will our everlasting gratitude. In addition, anyone can anyone recommend any good shops/meets/mechanics in Knoxville?

Thanks!
Kohl

www.easttnriders.com

Local forum for riders in East Tennessee and the surrounding area. Many are frequent riders of 129 or the dragon and the place is geared a bit towards sport bike riders but there are also a fair number of dual sport riders and a few vintage riders. Several local moto related business owners/employees are also frequent posters.

The only shop I have direct experience with and can recommend whole heartedly is Wheeler's but he is over the hill on the other side of the dragon outside of Robbinsville, NC. Very good mechanic that can fix just about anything on two or three wheels. He supports traveling riders very well also and has gotten more than a few crashed bikes patched back together quickly for out of town riders.
