Update!!!

Haven't had time to make an update but I have been working none the less. Been busy de-greasing all these parts.

Got a number of parts cleaned up and painted. I like how the rear sprocket and electronics turned out.

The seat came in the mail so I did a rough mockup:

Got pretty much everything cut off the frame that I want to cut off. Got the bottom bar where the center stand mounts are finished and grinded down. Laid down a little bit of primer so it doesn't flash rust. I was very nervous about cutting the frame but I think it is going well thus far.

Have a big parts order coming in the next week or so that has most of my parts going on this bike from Dime City. I will post a pic of everything when I get that. Also ordered a 4 into 1 exhaust which I should see this week as well as Hondaman's ignition and fuse block. But, my new rectifier/regulator came in.

That is it for now. Going to finish up the frame tomorrow and start getting the seat figured out.

Finished up the frame today.

Now on to mounting the seat.

Tagged it with some primer so I can get idea of a finished project!

Few minor updates,

Got the frame drilled and tapped for the seat. Just need to weld the thread inserts up and then I can finish mounting the seat and after that time for some powder coating.

I'm gettin' there! New fork uppers, headlight brackets, and clubmans should be on the way this next week. Racetech springs, ikon rear shocks, and buchanan spokes get ordered on Monday

Minor Update:

Finally got my master brake cylinder apart, cleaned up, and painted.

Internals were pretty jacked up:

Haven't updated in a few days so here is a quick status update.

Got my new dyna coils in today. Mounted them up to the freshly painted brackets and new stainless steel powdered bolts.

Few other items:
- MC rebuilt and painted.
- Inserts welded, re-tapped, and molded into frame.
- Seat is about 80% mounted, just two holes for blinkers, rear tail light mounting and some patches.
- Got bottom bearing off race as well as cleaning and prepping for powder.

Few other parts came in: new throttle cable, shift cable, stainless steel engine bolt kit, and brand new stainless nipples and spokes from Buchanans. Just about ready to get the frame and such over for some powder. Hoping within the next week. (fingers crossed)

Update, Got a few parts in...

RaceTech springs and emulators,

Getting an idea for a flush mount rear tail light like Ringo's bike. Little bit smaller though

Also, testing the rear blinker. It will be a little higher.

Non-picture update:

- Dropped the frame, triples, fork lowers, and engine mounts off and the powder coater tonight. Should have that back in about a week.
- New lift comes into tomorrow...

- Back-ordered parts should be in this next week which include fork tubes, headlight brackets, and clubman bars.
- Did hit some speed bumps. Hubs got trashed coming apart so looks like I may need to get some new ones. Caliper is basically toast as well. Bleed off screw sheared and pad is fused in there.

Overall so far so good. Will have more pics next week.

@Greggo -- Any angles or details you would like to see of the emulators?

Looks like the build is coming along well. Can I offer a suggestion? maybe instead of clubmans go for clip-ons. You can get a pair of clip-ons for about 30 bucks more than clubmans and they look so much cleaner. You have to do something with the idiot lights, but overall I think clip-ons make the bike look meaner. Just an opinion though. Great build either way! I'll be following for sure!

Hey Chad, thank you for the kind words and suggestions. Nice to hear that folks are interested. Makes me want to up my game

I thought about clip-ons but went with powder coated clubmans cause I liked the look a little bit better. Idiot lights will move into my Acewell that has the speedo, tach, and all the idiot lights built in. I will be making a custom bracket so the only things above the triples will be the Acewell and the headlight.

Here is my first bracket draft:

Still a little work to be done but the basic idea is there. The speedo will mount center.

My handle bar clamps should be here next week. Going to powder coat them to match but this is the style

Awesome man. Glad you thought about it. I'm sure the clubmans will look super nice. Are you taller? My friend has a 76 cb550 and he said his clubmans were super uncomfortable, He is about 6' 2". He moved to clip-ons and feels more comfortable on the bike. Looks killer man. I dig the handlebar clamps!

So with the frame out decided to work on some detail pieces.

Got the tank emblems off and the fuel tank cap/lock removed.

Got the fender trimmed down. Still need to clean the grinds up and then prep it for paint.

Started work on the petcock. Paint is still a little wet in the pic and still needs some touch up but it is a start.

Also got some other tidbits done on the rear brake parts. Got them dismantled and cleaned up.

Not really. I've just heard such great things about them, the racetechs in particular, and I'd like to see what's involved in installing them.

PS - That fender looks great, I want one like that for my next project bike.

@Greggo -- Firstly, thanks for the kind words. Still need to clean the grinds up on the fender. I am thinking it will match the tank so I am going to por15 the underside and then body fill the top and then paint. I will do my best to document the emulator install.

Ok, so I think I have some good updates to give.

Frame and a few parts came back from powder coating yesterday

It all turned out really good I think.

Frame (On the new stand)

Triple Tree and Engine Mounts

Got home pretty late but was able to mount up the electronics to the frame. This turned out good. I have a new blade fuse box and ignition courtesy of HondaMan. The ignition is painted black and mount behind the fuse box. I drilled a hole in the box and utilized a stock mounting point on the electronics panel. The rectifier/regulator is mounted at the bottom and then the HID controller is mounted behind the connectors on the left.

Also got the coils mounted up

Finished up most of the petcock. Just need to get a new strainer and I should be good to go.

That's all for now. Should be able to get back to it tonight and get a few more things done!

Thanks guys. I really like the way the black is turning out. I think it will contrast well with my spokes and engine. The loud part of the bike will be the tank and seat color.
