Where are the airboxes?

I'm seeing lots of 500s and 550s with pods out in the world. There must be some airboxes out there somewhere, but I can't find anycomplete ones for sale. Is there a decent souce for airboxs other than Ebay? I'm hating my pods.

The problem with air box haters is that they think they are worthless and either throw them away or "loose" important parts that are needed for their use.

I picked up almost-a-complete-set-up years ago on Ebay, for $2.00 plus shipping.  Mine was the only bid.  It went on a bike that came to me with a K&N monofilter.

I had to make the filter spring.

You just have to have timing...and patience.

What's wrong with Feebay? I've supplied most of the parts for my 550 from there. And I'm talking a lot of parts. Only had one mishap, the guy sold me an "OEM for CB550K" push throttle cable with 'black ends'. He said if I ship it back he would give me credit but the shipping back and forth would've cost more than the cable itself. Still looking for an OEM chrome.

Looking for the parts on ebay. There's a few but can't find a complete one. It seem the airbox to carb rubber tubes are made of a rare material. The hardware that holds them together seems to be scarce also.
I just thought that with all the people sticking pods on their bikes, that airboxes would be more plentiful.

I have a complete airbox, from the carb clamps to the the bolts holding it to the frame. I even have an old filter inside.

I think one of the problems is they are 40 year old plastic. And as most have experienced by removing side covers, that old plastic doesn't fair well over the years. Add that to what was said above and I think the mystery is solved!

There is a nice alternative if you own a 400/4. TTR400 makes a carbon fiber replica airbox

Or maybe instead of burning them or what ever else it is you picture the "haters" doing, they kept their airbox under their work bench and didn't sell it. Just a thought.
