best way to remove fuel filler cap for restoration.
« on: August 18, 2011, 10:44:53 AM »
Cant find any information on this on the forum. The chrome on my filler cap has gone bad. Whats the best way to remove the pins that hold it in place? And once done what is the best way to replace it? replacement pin? etc.
Cheers

good stuff, Thanks. I must have been using the wrong search words. I pm'd Hondaman and will see if he still makes the pin sets. Otherwise I might try to carefully press them out and reuse them.

The main thing with the search is to use the search field at the top right of the page instead of the "google custom search".  I find it easier to use and the results are in standard forum layout.  Also, you have to search from the top of the home page.  It will only show results from the page you're currently on, so if you're on the Open Forum and search for a tech topic, you're not going to come up with much.

For this topic I searched for "fuel cap pin", and those two threads were the first two results.  The fewer, more specific words you use, the better the results will be.

And that concludes today's lesson in Forum Search-fu. ;D ;D
