cb550 air filter question
« on: April 09, 2006, 04:38:54 AM »
What connects to the bottom of the air filter housing next to the drain port? Mine caught fire and I've replaced all the plastic parts that burnt up. Just don't know what connects to that port(the one next to the drain port) which looks like it accepts a 3/8" rubber hose. Thanks for any help.

Honda Shop manual Pg 108

There are three hoses in the stock air filter setup.
All three route ending between swing arm and engine case just ahead of rear wheel.
One is on the air plenum to take care of over flowing carbs it has an open end tube!!??
One on a right angle fitting at side of filter box goes to top engine cover.
The one at the very bottom of the air box filter drain water collected by the engine breather filter system.  At the end of this tube is an end cap with a slit across it.  That's a pinch valve, used during the tune up process, to drain the water collected.
