Well, ok. That has been just an idea...Found out that the sump of the 650 fits an has already a bit more capacity. I'll leave the swingarm as it is.

Nope, it's from a german moped called Zündapp GTS 50. But 50cc wasn't a bad guess at all

Hi Guys,

I need your help, because I'm quite indecisive. Shall I leave the frame as it is or shorten it like visualised by the black line?

I know it's a personal estimation, but maybe this dilemma can be solved by one or two good arguments for or against this measure.

I had some ideas on the aspect how I get a well accessible battery case and finally decided to do it like the following:

The sheet will be welded underneath the seat's hump. There will be another sheet covering the section fastened with 6 screws on which the battery will be mounted. This solution will provide the wanted accessibility.

Hey guys,

today I got some time to close the seat.
The trapezoid sheet is fastened by 8 screws and provides room for the battery mount.

Enjoy the pictures, in my opinion the result looks quite good!

it looks sehr gut..
is it possibel to make the frame,,go raund under the "box"..by velding a 1 cm#2,5 cm tube rund the frame..it must not be raund but 4 ekkige rohre,,to follov the form of the top..eventuell hold it in the frame kolor..at kontrast to the tail /seat..oderveise it vill look to high..if all is same farbe

I thought of that but I'll stick to the solution cutting the frame as marked above. The appearance of the seat being to high is refuted when the bike stands without the main stand and the dampers do their work.

As you maybe read, I bought a clear head lamp from a local store a few weeks ago. I've had some thoughts about this und decided to change it to match the classic Honda case for the headlight.

So here is the result of heat, filling old bores, rebore and smoothing.

The light's original case is visible in the background.

Moreover I had a first try on shortening the frame. The shape does not please me yet, but I'll work on this.
All in all the bike starts getting the shape I imagined months ago...Hope it will turn out great!

Coming home from work I saw this car next to the street.

What do you think of this colour scheme for a classic bike?

I thought of welding a short tube to the mounting of the passenger's footpegs in order to mount some universal rearsets like these here

The most probable position is marked by the red circle

I think it will bend. You could weld in a plate above that bar and bolt it through that. Its going to need more support then just one weld from the top. You need to be able to stand on the pegs and not worry about them coming off.

It's Pros and Cons time!

Saw a CB 750 today with a nice set of velocity stacks. After a quick search on that topic it says, that these would go along well with some porting work.

What do you think? Experience?
