Oette, forgot to mention, the Daichi points are horrible and give nothing but trouble due to their bad engineering/construction. Since you managed to solve your issue quickly, I presume the issues you had were something else? What was the solution, for the borg collective...

I went with the CB500T tank that I like but man the bulkiness of the CX its something to admire especially with that paint color. I will have to remember that for the next one I do.

Since the CX (Deluxe or Standard model) tank and bikes have grown in popularity by cafe racers in the past couple years their prices have edged up considerably. Finding a good clean used  CX tank is harder and much more $$$ than previously. The GL500 tanks are similarly shaped, fwiw...

I would have to have the fabrication tools to be able to make the fit. I actually want to do a CX just because the look of the engine. I think it would be one to get creative with. The only thing I don't like is the fact they are water cooled.

Hey,
The nut on the cam chain tensioner loosened itself. After adding another washer and copper washer I managed to fix it in the right position. Now everything runs perfect. In lack of budget there has been no seat manufactured yet. Tested the bike around 200 miles at the weekend and now my arse really hurts :-D. Time to get a matching seat...

Presenting you The Green Hornet

So here we go. The last step is currently done by my seat manufacturer. Next week the bike is as complete as a never really complete and finished bike can be.

My girlfriend suggested a name for the bike, a name out of a crazy but also brilliant idea...Man, that could have been my idea!

Ladies and gentlemen, I present you

The Green Hornet

Here is a compilation of the best pics I recently made on my short trip around the cities without any cushion.

The final pics to follow, when the seat is finished.

You're tough to be riding around on that seat!  :o

The bike's a real eye catcher. Well done.

So here it is, the final stage. Today my seat returned from the saddler. I'm not totally satisfied by the result, but check it out yourself. All in all I declare this bike as "finished" now, knowing, that it never will be really finished.

These pics were just made out of the situation with my mobile phone, so excuse cheap quality and simple angles.

Actually, I think the seat looks good, it doesn't look like your average cafe seat, it kind of looks factory. Nice looking bike mate..

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

Sorry, it's a German Store and there's no English version available. Try google translator or something else. Hope the info helped you.

But your question reminds me of FunJimmy's thread "CB 550 Interceptor" in which he presented a Dresda Swingarm for the CB 550, which is, as far as I know, nearly exactly the same swingarm.

You have 17 hours left to "accept" the nomination but you must do so in the BOTM thread itself to be official ;)
