Am I crazy, o do new coil wires help?

I finally got around to splicing new coil wires onto my old ones, using NGK splicers. I got new wires, and had already gotten new plug caps a while back.

Ok, I know this might be placebo effect. The bike was running pretty well before. But my first ride, and more importantly, my second (because I wasn't as focused on the new fixes) seemed to have a little more pep. A little more solid power through the sweep of the throttle.

I only went on a short ride locally, so lots of starts and stops (city riding), but it felt pretty good. Maybe just residual pride in having not completely screwed it up? :)

Absolutely, it could be marginally better.  If your old wires were operating at significantly higher than spec resistance, you could have had a less than ideal secondary ignition spark going to the cylinders; your bike may have more complete fuel combustion now and you are feeling it in the seat of your pants, so to speak.  Good job.

That's sorta what I was thinking.  It seemed more responsive, and I hoped that the improved juice would be productive.

Now for a Spring carb sync, the improved air recirculation i will have ina week, and I should have this thing in good running order for the World Tour Relay.
