Trackmaster Dirt Track CB750
« on: November 10, 2010, 04:55:14 am »
Gentlemen.

Here are the first pics of what has to be the only Trackmaster CB750 bike in existence. This frame was built back in the day's of the new era, multi cylinder AMA flat track machines of Yamaha TZ700, Kaw Triples and Tri/BSA triples. Any pics of other versions of this bike would be appreciated as I have never viewed a completed Trackmaster framed bike, only the Champion framed Hon 750 that Rick Hocking and Randy Renzlo (spl) raced.

More to the point...it is a "twingle" camshaft. ie: 1&4 cyl fire at same time and then 180 degrees later, 2&3 cyl fire. A big bang would have all of the engines cylinders firing at different time, rather close together, as to allow for staggered power impulses to happen vs even firing of a 90 degree, 180 degree or 360 degree engine.

I was torn between the tank that you should use on that thing... as it would be so '60's looking and if you remember Trackmaster would have you run a bicycle seat with alloy fender and a pillion pad. Yuk! I have an XR seat from a factory davidson XR750 dirt tracker that really fits nice, so that might make it on the bike. Hell yes, we are going to run it. I was talking with Gary Nixon last nite and he just said, tell you your kid to watch out for that thing....it will bite you!

Bike should weigh between 350 and 375 pounds.  Our CR750 weighed in at 375-380 and that had a lot more parts on it than this one does. The tyres on the bike now are take offs from RS750 that Bubba Shobert (who by the way, was AMA Grand National Champion for 3 straight years on Team Honda bikes) and they were Goodyear.

Just on Friday we received the tyres we are going to run from Gary Nixon, (who by the way, along with being the GoodYear tire Distributor for AMA Dirt track  tyres was 1968 Daytona 200 Winner and AMA Grand National Champion 1969)

If you want numbers on sizes and compounds...pm me.

Are you going to run the bike in the vintage races on June 3rd in Plymouth, WI?  Its AMA bike weekend at RA with a Pro-Flattrack event at the County Fair grounds.  They have a vintage class with heat-races and a final on a long 1/4-mile track.

Also, will you be at the Davenport, IA, AMCA Chief Blackhawk races on the 1/2 mile? Some guys I know are waiting with some pretty fast Triumphs and HDs.
