Direction of gaskets?
« on: March 28, 2011, 03:55:39 PM »

This is probably a dumb questions but:  I just bought the athena gasket kit for my cb350F and noticed that the texture is different from one side of the gasket to the other in most cases.  Does it matter which direction the gaskets are installed?  Is it writing side up?

Sorry, I'm a total newb and don't want to do it wrong.

Thanks for any replies.

The beauty of Honda is they designed most everything so that it only goes together one way, I doubt you could put a gasket in wrong as it should only line up one way....Larry

I think that is the case with the exception of the head gasket.  I guess I have a 50/50 chance of getting it right or maybe it doesn't matter?

Any other tip or trick for putting the gaskets on right?  I have read everything from put them on dry to put grease or yamabond on them.  What do you guys usually do?
