WOW...  This is unbelievable!  Never heard of it before!

Waiting for breakeven then moving to TX or FLA (California income tax is 10%).

Definitely come down to TX!  Ride all year, beautiful coasts, great fishing, wonderful hunting, and loads of fun country roads! ;)

the only downside is that during the summer temps reach almost 200F  8) Bring sunblock

I guess I will remove the crack pipe I had attached to the frame and replace it with a small bag of porcelain.

Oh, don't be a baby...  It only gets a LITTLE bit over 100...  not sure about San Marcos, but the only thing that gets me is the ridiculous humidity in the Killeen area.  However, that was never a factor for me in Dallas.

Dallas can get sticky too but nothing like south Texas.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

I figure this wave will hit Seattle soon enough. Anybody have experiences with bike covers with cable locks? Might deter them but not for ever.

Yes my son (the fuzz) told me about this, even our local cops didn't know about it till some young car thief bragged about it to them, guess UTube is educational in some ways! ???

My buddy and his wife moved to Austin a while back.  NO STATE INCOME TAXES. Plus the housing bust did not hit nearly so hard in TX.  Plus if someone come on your land uninvited the old rules apply.  Right to carry, Republic of Texas, and so on.  Housing is cheaper and if someone come in the back yard for your bike you may discharge your scatter gun close by and no hard feelings on the part of local civil authorities.

100% true.  The real estate market in TX is still pretty healthy, and you can get some pretty good interest rates.  No state income taxes, correct.  And you can shoot them, so long as their back isn't turned.   ;)

morning guy's,they started the spark plug thing about 10-15yrs ago in South Africa and we put in a safty film, the new thing is a normal gate or alarm remote at a shopping centre hold the button in while somebody is locking a car,how many people look when they push the button, the remote blocks the signal and the car is left open for them to steal everything bought at the last shop, works with 90%+ cars.
Be carfull out there

New one from one of my criminals, to counter a car alarm simply reach up under the rear end and grab some tail light wires, strip them back with a knife and ground them to an earth.
Now set off the alarm which will activate the lights.
According to my crim this will also blow most car alarms, ain't gonna try it but it sounds plausible. ;)

Yup, it is easier to have a life here AND own a home.  If the repo man comes to take your car and it was on your property, you can take them out and get away with it.  Been done.

It is not really a concrete jungle either, there will be corn field between businesses, lol.

Gee, I don't know about Texas weather. I had to travel to Houston on business occasionally, always in July/August. I'd rather have 5 months of Michigan winter and snow.  :)

It can be really humid and hot during those months (I think) in Houston.  Dallas is a bit better.

Bikes stay in the garage when it hits 100 degrees.

It gets better the faster you go! Its the stops lights that are brutal.
Not that I encourage this type of behavior but I have known several cyclists and motorcyclists who carry spark plug porcelain when they ride for aggro cars or even tail-gaters. I have heard marbles work really well because they disintegrate on impact leaving no trace.

Move to Cincinnati.. Everything here happens  10 years later...so you'll have some time to stockpile plugs.

Plus you can ride to all of the Kentucky bourbon distilleries in a few hours on Amazing roads...

You got it.  It is not fun after 100 degrees.

I can't poke too much fun just yet.  I used to ride all Summer long in Austin and it didn't affect me at all, but that was in my mid-20's.  Now It's my first Summer back in Texas and I'm in my mid-30's and have two kids, so we'll just have to see how I feel about riding to work when it's 105 and 95% humidity now! ;D ;D
