« on: March 26, 2011, 03:41:05 PM »
I aquired a 72 cb500 a few months ago and finally getting some work done on it. I still don't have a good set of carbs for it but they should be here next week
This is what I brought home

I stripped the harness out, seat, bars, controls, cables, rear fender and other mess and bought a hard tail kit, throttle/grips, and drag bars from TC Bros.

I worked 58.5 hours this week so I didn't have much time to work on the bike.
I'm going to order tires, seat, wiring stuff, fake oil tank (electrical box) brake pads, air filters and a few more odds and ends this weekend. I'm also going to cut the bike up and weld in th TCbros hardtail kit on saturday.

I will also be going with a set of cb550 carbs on the 500 engine. I think they should be fine.

I did snap this pic of the two bikes in the basement.

made a little progress

I decided not to use the rear fender and strut kit that I bought for it. The fender was squared off on the edges and it didn't think it looked right. I used the stock rear fender....It fit really well. I will have to do a little bit of modification and weld some tabs to mount it to the frame.
